The Elena Barraquer Foundation works to combat avoidable blindness in countries with limited access to eye care, providing consultations and surgical treatment that transform lives and restore independence to thousands of people.
In 2025, the Foundation carried out 13 international surgical expeditions, delivering 10,700 eye consultations and performing 5,765 cataract operations. Thanks to the dedication of its medical teams and volunteers, thousands of people regained their sight and, with it, the opportunity to return to education, work, family life and full participation in their communities.
