Collaboration with Fundación Tennis Barcelona 2024

In 2024, Invest for children has collaborated with Fundación Tennis Barcelona for their programme “Tennis with values”.  The Fundación Tennis Barcelona was created in 2019 with the aim of promoting and growing the solidarity action historically carried out by the RCTB-1899. The entity’s mission is to improve the physical and emotional health of children and young people at risk of social exclusion in Barcelona and its metropolitan area through tennis practice.

In 2023, the Club’s Solidarity Tennis School welcomed more than 350 students, offering them weekly extracurricular tennis classes and values transmission in their own neighborhoods, in school playgrounds, municipal sports courts, and tennis courts.

The RCTB-1899 Foundation aims to become a leading sports entity in social inclusion, through the actions and programs it develops, which grow year after year and are the best vehicle the Club has to work for a more egalitarian and inclusive world.

THE SOLIDARITY TENNIS SCHOOL, A CONTINUOUS AND SUSTAINED GROWTH

TENNIS WITH VALUES ‘Tennis with Values’, the flagship program of the FTB, has provided children and young people at risk of social exclusion with the opportunity to participate in weekly tennis activities in their own neighborhoods, with rackets collected from members. In collaboration with reference social organizations (such as Caritas, Casal dels Infants, Pere Tarrés Foundation), the program provides them with a way to improve their physical fitness and emotional well-being through tennis practice. In 2023 ‘Tennis with Values’ achieved a significant milestone, expanding to Guinardó and Sant Andreu, starting a group on Saturdays.

THE INDICATORS OF “TENNIS WITH VALUES”:

  • 350 participants
  • 29 nationalities
  • +800 hours of tennis
  • 3700 snacks
  • +350 rackets collected
